Cochiti Figural Pottery Pitcher, c. 1885

Cochiti Figural Pottery Pitcher, c. 1885

7.75 inches height x 7 inches width

by Unknown

An early Cochiti pottery pitcher with an unusual animal form. This pitcher has a ton of character with a human like nose, budding wings, and a mouth that seems to be singing. It is truly a great example of the pre turn of the century imagination of Cochiti potters. It is in excellent condition with only minor wear to the paint on the protruding eyes.
