Hopi Polychrome Seed Jar, c. 1900

Hopi Polychrome Seed Jar, c. 1900

13.25 inches diameter x 6.5 inches height

by Hopi Tewa potter Nampeyo

Hopi polychrome seed jar, attributed to Nampeyo of Hano. This jar shows the Sikyatki revival form as well as design. Because it was made later in her career it has great details in the design. The firing in this case produced beautiful blushes. This is a large example of her work and is in very good condition with no restoration or repair.
