Hopi Redware Vase by Annie Nampeyo

Here is an interesting wide-mouthed vase by Hopi master potter Annie Nampeyo. the daughter of Nampeyo. Although unsigned, this piece has Annie's familiar black and gray paint over a red slip with simpified Sikyatki Revival designs. This piece shows Annie's ability to improvise and invent new forms. Shows minor wear for an older piece, around 1910. Measures 5" high by 5 1/2" in diameter. A great example of the living tradition of pottery at Hopi.
