Eskimo Ivory Bear S/P Shakers, Old

3" by 2"

This is an outstanding example of Eskimo ivory carvings, a pair of standing bears with their paws up on pedestals. Each bear is drilled and threaded with a plug on the bottom for use as a salt or pepper shaker. Each bear measures 3" high by about 2" on the base. Exquisitely carved and stylized, totally usable. Excellent condition, no repairs or restoration, c. 1920.
