Santo Domingo Depression Era Necklace

14 1/2" length

A Santo Domingo handmade necklace from the 1930's constructed from various found items like car battery casings (black backing) vinyl records (red) bones (beads), and chips of turquoise. These necklaces are inspired by the prehistoric tab style popular at all the Rio Grande pueblos but were produced in a time when traditional materials were too expensive or not available.
